VECTOR SYSTEM
TABLE WORKSHOP2016
A laundry pin was the starting point for the Infinity series, two legs pinching at a point. But instead of using a spring to apply pressure, the table uses gravity. By the weight of the tabletop the legs get pushed outward, making the legs pinch the table top and keeping it in its place. The construction made this way is suprisingly strong. It uses no glue and is possible to take apart any moment. But it is possible to stand on the table.
INDUSTRIAL DEVOLUTION
FOOTWEAR2022 - ONGOING
Frustrated by our disconnect with making and curious about the growing distance between consumers and manufacturing, Ruben Warnshuis set about to remove complexity from shoe production by devolving the process in a workshop where anyone can weave shoes from rope, using looms and moulds.
DOUBLE WOVEN BAG
2022 - ONGOING
Together with Sarah Roseman, we were asked to redesign a backpack that EE Labels developed. While still making use of the double weave, we added a gradient that shows the bag is created out of one piece, only folded to create the bag. Using different weaving patterns throughout the bag, the top is a looser weave, making it softer to the touch where the straps are a tougher weave, stiffer, but stronger.
